Root-Cause Evaluation

A full hour with a Doctor of PT. We look at how you move, how you lift, and what's actually driving your pain — not just where it hurts.

Patient training through physical therapy
03

Train Through It. Get Strong.

We don't put you on the bench. We modify your training, fix the mechanics, and build you back stronger — so this doesn't happen again.

What to Expect at PT Liftology

Never been to cash-pay PT before? You will notice the difference immediately. Advanced hands-on problem solving. Clear answers about your diagnosis. One-on-one attention the entire hour focusing on you and your goals.

01

Identify the Root Cause

Your first session is a full 60-minute evaluation with a Doctor of PT. We test your movement, watch you lift (if relevant), and uncover what's actually causing your pain — not just treat the symptom. You leave with a clear diagnosis and a plan.

02

Break the Pain Cycle

Every follow-up is 60 minutes, one-on-one, with the same clinician. We combine hands-on manual therapy, movement retraining, and targeted strength work — tailored to your sport. You rebuild confidence and function, step by step.

03

Build and Maintain Longevity

We don't just get you back to training — we make sure you stay healthy long-term. You leave with a maintenance plan, strength progressions, and the knowledge to prevent this from happening again. Athletes stay in the gym while they heal.

Not All Physical Therapy Is Created Equal

Insurance-based PT is built for volume. We're built for outcomes. Here's the difference.

PT Liftology
60-minute sessions — every time
Doctor of PT with you the entire hour
Root-cause diagnosis, not symptom management
Keep training throughout your rehab
Transparent pricing — you know the cost upfront
Fellowship-trained DPTs — top 1% of the profession
Typically 4–8 sessions to see lasting results
Typical Insurance-Based PT
15–20 min with the PT, the rest with a tech
Double- and triple-booked therapists
Cookie-cutter protocol for the diagnosis code
"Rest, ice, and don't lift" — indefinitely
Surprise EOBs and unexpected bills weeks later
Generalist staff with high patient turnover
Visit limits set by your insurer, not your body

We Don't Take Insurance — Here's Why That's Better for You

We are an out-of-network physical therapy clinic. This isn't a workaround — it's a deliberate choice that allows us to deliver the kind of care we believe you deserve: a full hour with your Doctor of PT, every single session, with no visit limits, no prior authorizations, and no billing codes dictating your treatment plan.

In most cases, this model results in fewer total visits and faster outcomes than insurance-based PT — which means it often costs less out of pocket in the end.

Have PPO Insurance?

You may be reimbursed for a significant portion of our fees. Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask: "What are my out-of-network physical therapy benefits?" We provide a detailed superbill after every visit to submit to your insurer.

Have an HSA or FSA?

Physical therapy is a qualified medical expense — you can pay for every session with pre-tax HSA or FSA dollars. It's one of the smartest uses of those funds, and we accept both cards directly at checkout.

The Math Often Works Out

Insurance PT averages 12–18 visits for common injuries. At PT Liftology, most patients resolve in 4–8 sessions. When you factor in copays, deductibles, and lost productivity from dragging out recovery — cash-pay often costs less.

What Does Fellowship-Trained Actually Mean?

The FAAOMPT credential — Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists — is the highest post-graduate credential available in physical therapy. Fewer than 1% of all physical therapists in the country have completed it.

Fellowship training requires hundreds of additional hours of supervised clinical practice, advanced examination techniques, and mastery of manual therapy — above and beyond the DPT degree. It's the equivalent of a surgical subspecialty in medicine.

What it means for you: when Dr. Dan or Dr. Elaine puts their hands on you, they have a level of diagnostic precision and manual therapy skill that the vast majority of PTs — regardless of years of experience — simply do not have.

They Compete Too

PTs Who Train Like You Do

Dr. Dan Cole competes in HYROX. Dr. Elaine Tsay is an Olympic weightlifter. They didn't get into PT to hand out therabands — they built PT Liftology because they knew active people deserved better care.

Together they've helped hundreds of athletes in Cedar Park and Leander get out of pain, stay in the gym, and come back stronger. Fellowship-trained in manual therapy, relentless about root causes, and never satisfied with "just manage the pain."

Common Questions

Insurance companies dictate how many visits you get, how long your sessions are, and what treatments are "approved." We skip all that. You get 1-on-1 sessions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the full hour — no techs, no double-booking, no arbitrary visit limits. You get what you actually need to get better, faster.
Evaluations and single sessions are $209. We also offer packages: 4 sessions for $780 ($195/session), 8 sessions for $1,480 ($185/session), and 12 sessions for $2,100 ($175/session). All pricing is transparent and upfront — no surprise bills. HSA and FSA funds are accepted.
It depends on your injury and goals, but most patients see significant improvement within 4–8 sessions. Because we spend the full hour with you — not 15 minutes like insurance-based clinics — you typically need fewer total visits.
No — and that's the whole point. We don't tell athletes to "rest and wait." We find the root cause of your pain and modify your training so you can keep moving while you recover. Most of our patients stay in the gym throughout their rehab.
No. Texas has direct access, which means you can start physical therapy without a physician's referral. You can book your evaluation today and start treatment immediately.
Wear what you'd wear to the gym — shorts, t-shirt, athletic shoes. If your pain happens during a specific lift, bring your lifting shoes or belt so we can assess you in your actual gear.
Yes. We provide a superbill (itemized receipt) upon request after each visit that you can submit to your insurance company. Many patients with out-of-network benefits get partial reimbursement. Check with your insurer to see what your plan covers.
Yes — and it's one of the smartest ways to use those funds. HSA and FSA accounts are pre-tax dollars set aside specifically for your health. Using them for physical therapy means you're investing in fixing the problem now instead of paying more later for imaging, injections, or surgery.
