Conditions We Treat — Cedar Park & Leander, TX

Work & Auto Injury PT in Cedar Park, TX

Work injuries and auto accidents can cause damage that lingers for months if not treated correctly from the start. We provide the one-on-one, hands-on care that gets you fully recovered — not just functional.

Work Injuries & Auto Accident Recovery

Work injuries and motor vehicle accidents are two of the most common causes of musculoskeletal pain that brings people to physical therapy. Despite their different mechanisms, they share an important characteristic: they often don't get the full rehabilitation they need, which leads to chronic pain and lasting limitations that were entirely preventable.

Work injuries most commonly involve the lower back, shoulder, neck, and wrist — from repetitive strain, heavy lifting, awkward postures, or acute trauma. The return-to-work pressure that accompanies these injuries often means people return before they're fully rehabilitated, setting the stage for re-injury or chronic symptoms.

Auto accident injuries — including whiplash, concussion, and soft tissue trauma — are often more complex than they appear. The forces involved in a collision create injury patterns across multiple structures simultaneously. Whiplash in particular is known to cause persistent symptoms when not properly rehabilitated: research shows that up to 50% of whiplash patients develop chronic symptoms, but early manual therapy and graded exercise significantly reduce that risk.

At PT Liftology, we treat work and auto injuries with the same thoroughness we bring to every case — a full hour with a fellowship-trained Doctor of PT, hands-on manual therapy, and a structured return-to-activity program that prioritizes complete recovery over quick clearance.

How We Treat Work & Auto Injuries

Our approach to work and auto injuries prioritizes complete recovery over fast clearance. We document your progress thoroughly, communicate with your medical team when appropriate, and build a return-to-activity plan that protects you from re-injury.

1

Comprehensive Injury Assessment

We evaluate all structures involved — not just the primary complaint. Work and auto injuries frequently affect multiple areas simultaneously. Missing a secondary injury is one of the most common reasons these cases develop into chronic problems.

2

Manual Therapy & Dry Needling

Hands-on treatment to restore joint mobility, reduce muscle guarding, and address the soft tissue restrictions that follow trauma. Early manual therapy for whiplash injuries is particularly well-supported in the research for preventing chronic symptom development.

3

Functional Rehabilitation

Progressive strengthening and movement retraining tailored to your specific job demands or activity goals. We don't just get you out of pain — we make sure you have the strength and movement quality to prevent re-injury when you return to the activities that caused the original problem.

4

Return-to-Work or Activity Clearance

We provide functional testing and documentation to support return-to-work decisions. Our goal is that you return fully rehabilitated — not just pain-free at rest, but able to handle the actual demands of your job or lifestyle without re-injury risk.

Work & Auto Injuries — Common Questions

No — Texas has direct access to physical therapy. You can book an evaluation without a physician's referral. We will communicate with your doctor, workers' comp case manager, or attorney as needed to support your care and documentation requirements.

We are a cash-pay clinic, which means we do not bill workers' compensation directly. However, we can provide detailed documentation and superbills to support your claim and coordinate with your case manager. Many patients find that our one-on-one model gets them back to full function faster than the standard workers' comp clinic experience.

As soon as possible — ideally within the first 1–2 weeks after the accident. Early manual therapy for whiplash injuries significantly reduces the risk of developing chronic symptoms. Waiting to "see if it gets better on its own" is one of the most common factors that leads to persistent pain after auto accidents.

Yes — this is a very common presentation. Medical clearance typically means there is no fracture or serious structural pathology, not that full rehabilitation is complete. We frequently see patients who were medically cleared after work injuries or accidents but still have significant movement restrictions, weakness, and pain. A full PT evaluation will identify exactly what's remaining and build a plan to resolve it.
