Most people have only ever experienced insurance-based PT — rushed visits, aides doing most of the work, a plan designed around what insurance will cover rather than what you actually need. Cash-pay PT is a different model entirely.
How Cash-Pay PT Works
No insurance involved. You pay directly for your session. In return, you get a full hour with your Doctor of Physical Therapy — no aides, no double-booking, no 15-minute slots. At PT Liftology, that means Dr. Dan Cole or Dr. Elaine Tsay, both fellowship-trained DPTs, for the entire session.
What "Fellowship-Trained" Actually Means
Fellowship training is post-doctoral clinical education — it's the highest level of clinical training a PT can complete. It means we handle complex cases, use advanced manual therapy techniques, and stay current with the research. Most PT clinics don't have fellowship-trained providers.
No Referral Needed in Texas
Texas allows direct access to physical therapy — you don't need a doctor's referral to book. That means you can call us today and be seen this week. No waiting for a physician appointment, no imaging required to get started.
HSA and FSA Accepted
Cash-pay doesn't mean out-of-pocket in the traditional sense. We accept HSA and FSA funds, which means your PT sessions can be paid with pre-tax dollars. Many patients find the total cost comparable to — or less than — their annual insurance deductible.
Is Cash-Pay PT Right for You?
If you're an athlete, an active adult, or someone who's been through insurance PT and didn't get the results you needed — yes. If you want a plan built around your goals, not your coverage, cash-pay PT is worth a conversation.
One-on-one with a fellowship-trained DPT. No referral. Same-week availability. HSA/FSA accepted. A plan built around your goals.
